Are you studying Italian but feel that you quickly forget what you learn? Italian exercises help you turn grammar rules and vocabulary into knowledge you can use when speaking and writing.
In this guide you will find grammar, vocabulary and communication exercises organised by difficulty. You can start with the A1–A2 activities or go directly to the Italian exercises for B1–B2 levels.
You will find all the answers at the end of the article so that you can check your work.
How to use these Italian exercises
You do not need to complete all the activities on the same day. To get the most out of them:
- Choose one or two exercises suited to your level.
- Answer without looking at the solutions straight away.
- Correct your mistakes and write down the right answer.
- Create a new sentence using the same rule.
- Do the exercise again after a few days.
Studying for ten or fifteen minutes regularly is often more effective than completing many activities in a single session.

- Listen once without pausing.
- Write down the words and expressions you understood.
- Listen again with Italian subtitles.
- Write three sentences summarising the content.
- Repeat part of the audio aloud.

- An Italian city you would like to visit.
- A special experience you have had.
- Your goals for learning Italian.
- What your life would be like if you lived in Italy.
- A film or book you would recommend.
- The advantages and disadvantages of learning a language online.
When you have finished, check the articles, prepositions, agreement and verb tenses.

Pay attention to:
- Pauses that are too long.
- Words you repeat frequently.
- Verbs you do not know how to conjugate.
